On Saturday January 17, The Lansing Center hosted Life In Color, the worlds largest paint party. The event started at around 7:00pm and ended between 12:30-12:45am. Me and my group of friends (10-20 people) arrived at the venue a little late around 7:15-7:30pm which was good because most of the ticket lines were pretty short and easy to get through. The security checks were pretty easy. Ive been to multiple shows in the past where security gave not really me, but my friends a hard time due to the clothing they were wearing. I was very pleased to get through the ticket and security line very fast. When we got in the opening DJ, Ill Mix, was playing. Ive never heard his music before, but he put on a good show along with another hometown East Lansing DJ, Double Down, who I have met a couple times before, so once again I was happy with the line up LIC (Life In Color) picked. The third DJ to play was AL Neon. Like the other two, he as well played an amazing set. His music was more EDM and Trap, my favorite music genres. The fourth DJ to play was Party Favor. His music is huge in the EDM/Trap scene and I've never seen him live before. He played very popular songs that were out during that month and every one in the crowed was having a good time. Lastly the DJ everyone came for played, Diplo. I've seen Diplo multiple times and he never disappoints. He threw down all his popular songs including new unreleased ones. I was a little upset by him though because he usually plays the same similar set everywhere he goes and i've seen him 3 times already. Back to the security thing, the only problem I had with them was how easy backstage access was. Before Diplo went on I walked behind a gate and met Party Favor and Diplo, never being approached by security, but I can't complain. Overall I had a good time, the lines were fast, the stage setup was amazing along with the lights, and the music was good. The only real problems I had was the paint and crowed. First off the paint BURNED. They did paint blasts every half hour along with a hose constantly spraying paint on the crowed. It was very uncomfortable and stung my face the whole time. Now with the crowed it was just a bunch of drunk frat bro's pushing and fighting each other. I've never been to a concert where there was that much problems. Id give the whole event a 8.5/10.

Wow that is so awesome that you went to Life in Color. I have always wanted to go to one, and may even go to one this summer. I love listening to EDM, and Trap music. I have been to a few concerts myself. I find it interesting, that the paint burned so bad. I had no idea that it could make you feel that way. I would still love to go to one though.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a Life in Color event. I have seen pictures of people at Life in Color events on Instagram and Facebook but, I haven't experienced one yet. They look fun and cool. I would love to go one especially, the way you make it seem. However, I don't know if I would want to be hit with paint if it burns.
